This is my dad, Mark. He likes to tell stories and he is very inventive and kind. Because he was a bit reluctant to model at first, I wanted this painting to have a comfortable and relaxed feel to it, which is why I captured him reading.
Gwen van Houwelingen (1994) is a Dutch painter currently living and working in France. Her recent work is mostly centered around light, and she always aims to put humanity in her work by using her own experiences and finding inspiration in the people, the landscapes and the situations that surround her.
