This is my mom, Amerensia. I painted her the way I know her: strong, determined, warm & honest. I used a glass to create a distinct pattern of light on her face, sharp and vivid, creating interesting shapes and emphasizing her strength.
Gwen van Houwelingen (1994) is a Dutch painter currently living and working in France.
