The world is a mystery which we have to love and take care of. I hope this painting inspires to keep loving our amazing planet earth and its beauty. Everywhere in our world you see something new, and I hope you see this in my painting Mysteryland too....
After living and working in Brussels for 7 years I started my first lessons in watercolor painting and studies in color around 1999 in the Netherlands. At that time, I did a lot of flower/butterfly paintings and cubist paintings mostly in watercolor paint. I started painting in the cubist style while I was working for a design agency where I worked with graphic and web design.
To stay inspired and learn more techniques I kept on taking lessons from professionals. At the moment I use mostly acrylic paint combined with other materials like reed (from my garden). My inspiration comes from teachers, nature but also from other students. Painting is one of my biggest passions during the creative process I am focused on nothing else, which is very relaxing.
During lessons I have made works of art which are sometimes out of my comfort zone, but which can end up in amazingly beautiful pieces I did not think I would be capable of making.
One of my works is the Borneo Baby Monkey which I observed during a holiday. It is a very special animal. It is my first monkey and I have painted it in acrylic but using watercolor style.
My work is known because of the expressive use of colors which make you feel good.
