Lutze Christin

Empty street

Empty street

Material: Oil on canvas
Size: 30 x 40 cm

Influenced by the corona shutdown, the urban and architectural space is the central theme of Christin Lutze's artistic examination in this painting. She transforms the space into an independent figurative structure and directs the viewer's gaze to a white light house at the end of the path. This radiates hope. Neither the perspective, nor the architectural constructs can exist like this. The perspective is slightly shifted, the plane is deformed. Nevertheless, this painting looks real. The special handling of light supports depth and illuminates hidden corners. In this sensitive work, light creates exactly what could not be so in reality.
