2021 No more squares

Material: Mixed media on canvas
Size: 20 cm x 20 cm cm

In 2020 I made a series of 4 paintings to express the sad, isolated Covid-period of that year in shapes and colour. This painting is one of the two paintings made in 2021; The next step in this project; Using only grey and yellow; Flushing the past period (Covid - isolated squares and fragmentation) down the drain; Ready to make new, careful steps. Limited use of colour; Soothing and calming. Grey for the past, sad period and a little bit of yellow indicating new hope and new ways. (And indeed, there is a hole in the drain - a small cut in the canvas.)
