Last supper of the world

Last supper of the world

Material: oil on board
Size: 200 cm x 122 cm cm

The table symbolises the world. The world map looks fluid, hinting at global warming and serving as a nod to the ecological crisis caused by human greed. the woodcuts, “redemption” in Hebrew sign language. The dove of peace flies in the opposite direction. humanity needs to see the world oneness.
My paintings are illustrations for texts that I interpret, in words and pictures. In recent years I have been trying to refer in my paintings to famous texts or paintings from the history of art. Doing so I try to look at the present also in the perspective of the future. My recent works give expression to the impact of over-consumption, the greed, abundance and waste that comes with it, the pollution of natural resources that threaten the future of animals, plants and human in our world.
