Haitham Alhamad wins the Audience Award of Painting of the Year 2022 with his painting 'The Poets Trap'. This is what the artist says about the winning painting: 'This work is inspired by a poem about Damascus. She is Damascus, a woman seven impossibilities, and the idea of a god fifteen fabulous civilizations hanged herself on her doors.'
The painting received 281 votes from the general public. Haitham Alhamad wins € 500,- worth of artist materials.
The second place is for 'Woodturner (houtdraaier)' from Jelle van de Ridder.
Third place is for 'Footnotes III' from Jos van der Biezen.
